It even has pictures of Bride with Stryper from their 1990-1991 tour. The Worm and Under the Blood videos are included on the CD as well. It comes with a handy program called I_view32.exe that allows you to scroll through the photos and watch videos.

Oddities is the most intense and diverse recording that Bride has made. It contains all of the aggression that Bride is known for as well as some ballads similar to I Miss The Rain.

Dale Thompson - Vocalist
Troy Thompson - Guitarist
Jerry McBroom - Drums
Lawrence Bishop - Bassist

Oddities marks yet another musical change for Bride. While much of the album is still heavy and aggressive, Bride dives more into melody and dynamics than they have inthe past. Putting 13 songs on the recording allowed Bride to be more diverse with the music and lyrics. Tony Palacios, from Guardian, added a second guitar to Oddities which helped expedite the recording process as well as add another dimension to the guitar sound of Bride. There were also more background vocals added throughout this recording than any of Bride previous albums. The first single from Oddities will be I A'int Coming Down.

The Jesus Experience is another new step for Bride musically. It returns to the high energy Rock 'N Roll that Bride was known for in the early 90s. The band members for this recording was the same as for DROP.

Dale Thompson - Vocalist
Troy Thompson - Guitarist
Jerry McBroom - Drums
Steve Curtsinger - Bassist

Bride wants to make an impact with The Jesus Experience. They used John and Dino Elefante to produce this because they wanted a very modern sound. Bride believes this is their best recording to date. There are songs such as Till The End of the World that is similar to songs on Snakes In The Playground. There is one Anthem/Ballad which is Follow Me. Another guitarist, Tim Bushong from Love War, was brought in to add a different sound to the recording. Tim also sang all of the background vocals on the recording. The first single released for The Jesus Experience will be The Worm which will also have a video. The second single will be I Love You. Bride wanted a lot of energy in this recording and still have it sound modern. It appears that they have accomplished that.

Producer - Bride

Song Order

Show No Mercy
I Will Be With You
Thunder In The City
No Matter The Price
First Will Be Last

Show No Mercy was Bride's first album. It was recorded for Pure Metal records. Consisting of nine songs, Show No Mercy was a gothic rock album that was representative of music from that time. Being a first album, Show No Mercy was a low budget project which was to receive little attention from the record company. It was recorded in Bride's home town of Louisville, KY. The members of the band at that time were:

Dale Thompson - Vocalist
Troy Thompson - Guitarist
Steve Osborne - Guitarist
Scott Hall - Bassist
Stephan Rolland - Drums

Show No Mercy had quite a bit of success and it really helped Bride into the Christian Rock scene.

Show No Mercy was never released on CD, but three of the songs can be found on the album, End of the Age, which is a "best of" Bride's first three albums. Show No Mercy is not in print anymore and is impossible to find on cassette or vinyl.

Live To Die
Fire And Brimstone

Live To Die was Bride's second album and was released in 1988. This is a very hard driving Heavy Metal album. It was much more successful than its predecessor, Show No Mercy. The members of the band were the same except for the addition of a new bass player.

Dale Thompson - Vocalist
Troy Thompson - Guitarist
Steve Osborne - Guitarist
Frank Partipillo - Bassist
Stephan Rolland - Drums

Bride got to record this album at Grand Slam studio in West Orange, New Jersey. This studio was used to record some of Bon Jovi's early efforts. At the end of the record, after the song Heroes, there is an awful noise which many have equated to the sound of demons (No one in Bride has ever heard a demon and can not attest to the similarity in sound). This was disturbing to many Bride fans who was not prepared for it; since it did appear after a sizable pause. The noise was simply the producer, John Petri, playing the inside of a piano while howling like Yoko Ono. He made it a point to wake the band up in the morning by making this hideous sound. The band thought the noise was funny, not scary, and wanted it on the album as a reminder of the fun they had in the studio. Live To Die was released on CD, Cassette, and vinyl. Although it is out of print, it is possible to get a copy if you look hard enough.

Rock Those Blues Away

Silence Is Madness was Bride's third album and was released in 1989. It has been re-released in its entirety with a few extra bonus tracks in 2000. Only 2,500 copies of the re-release will be printed. The band was trying to redefine its sound by writing music that was not as heavy. This can be seen in songs such as Hot Down South and Until The End We Rock. There were still many hard driving songs such as All Hallow's Eve and Fool Me Once. The lineup for the band This is changed once again as Steve Osborne left the band.

Dale Thompson - Vocalist
Troy Thompson - Guitarist
Frank Partipillo - Bassist
Stephan Rolland - Drums

It was off to Nashville to record Silence Is Madness. John Petri was the producer once again since Bride felt comfortable with him. During the entire recording session, Troy, the guitarist for Bride, video taped everything. Later, Bride did a self released video of, The Making of Silence Is Madness. Since this was the third album in a three album deal with Pure Metal Records, Bride was eager to finish the project and get on to better things. Pure Metal had a poor reputation in regards to paying its bills and its artists. Silence Is Madness did not sell as many copies as Live To Die, but did well enough to allow Bride to stay in the mainstream Metal market for yet another year. This particular recording is the most sought after of all Bride recordings. It is out of print and cannot be found anywhere. There are trade publications with advertisements from individuals selling the CD for as much as $80. Jerry McBroom, the current drummer for Bride, sold his copy for $50 a year ago. He should have held out for another year.

End Of The Age is a best of album which combines Bride's first three albums and two new songs (Everybody Knows My Name and Same 'ol Sinner). Pure Metal Records was sold to Star Song Music Group and a best of album is a quick way to recoup money since most of the songs have already been recorded. Star Song contracted Bride to record the two new songs as an incentive for Bride fans to buy the album. They had little other interest in the band and was not interested in signing Bride to a recording contract. Things changed once the album was released. The new song, Everybody Knows My Name, went to #1 on the Christian Metal charts and stayed there for 14 weeks. Likewise, when Same ol' Sinner was released, it stayed at #1 for 8 weeks. Star Song became interested very quick. Bride signed a three album deal with Star Song with their first of three albums to be put out on the new and revised Pure Metal label. The new Bride sound had changed to hard rock from heavy metal and they had changed the lineup once again to help with the new direction.

Sweet Louise

Kinetic Faith was the beginning of a new era for Bride. It was an era of popularity and mild success. After working with producer Steve Griffith on the two new songs from End Of The Age, it was decided that he would produce Kinetic Faith too. Bride was ready to record another album with a new sound and a more technically proficient lineup.

Dale Thompson - Vocalist
Troy Thompson - Guitarist
Rick Foley - Bassist
Jerry McBroom - Drums

Kinetic Faith was to be recorded in a studio in Nashville called the Salt Mine. This is a studio where Amy Grant recorded her first few album with Brown Bannister. Kinetic Faith was a complete departure from the music heard on Bride's first three albums. It was more Rock 'n' Roll sounding - with a twist. The project did not turn out like the band wanted it to because of disagreements with producer Steve Griffith. In the end, the finished product was good enough to put Bride in the mainstream of Christian Music and to win them a DOVE Award for the song, Everybody Knows My Name. All of a sudden, the gothic metal band from the 80s had found a niche in the 90s.

Snakes In The Playground is the most popular album that Bride has ever done. With a new producer, Plinky, the band had a new set of songs and an attitude to make a great record. The band members did not change for this album.

Dale Thompson - Vocalist
Troy Thompson - Guitarist
Rick Foley - Bassist
Jerry McBroom - Drums

Every song on Snakes In The Playground was a screamer. High energy Rock 'n' Roll from beginning to end. This album won the band two DOVE Awards in two different years for the songs Rattlesnake and Psychedelic Super Jesus. This album broke a lot of ground in the Christian Rock scene by exploring new territories musically and concentrating on social themes lyrically. Star Song really got behind this record and pushed it to the resellers and to radio. Bride has gotten a lot of mileage out of Snakes In The Playground as it continues to sell well. Bride began to play many overseas dates because of the popularity and wide spread distribution of this album.

Scarecrow Messiah was the third album in a series of three for Star Song. In seeing that this was the last album that Bride was contracted to due for Star Song, Star Song began to put a lot of pressure on Bride to re-sign to another multiple album record deal. Unfortunately, the deal that Star Song offered Bride was no better than there current one, and Bride felt there worth had gone up since the popularity of Snakes In The Playground. There were many delays in recording and releasing this album. Bride actually went to California and started recording Scarecrow Messiah with producers John and Dino Elefante without Star Song's consent. Once the project was under way, Star Song had no choice but to sanction the project and start paying the bills for it. Although this album was widely accepted by the Bride audience and won Bride a DOVE Award for Metal Album of the Year, it made no in-roads to reach additional fans. Once again, Bride felt it was time to change musical styles. The lineup for this album was the same as for the last two.

DROP was record by Bride for a new record label called Rugged Recored. Rugged had pursued Bride for several months and finally offered them a record deal they could not refuse. So, it was decided that Bride would record one album for Rugged. The lineup for Bride had changed again after four years of the same members. Rick Foley had left the band and was replaced by Steve Curtsinger.

Dale Thompson - Vocalist
Troy Thompson - Guitarist
Steve Curtsinger - Bassist
Jerry McBroom - Drums

DROP was kind of an experimental album for BRIDE. They had complete artistic control of the contents. Many new ideas were tried and the musical style of the album was much different from any of the past. DROP is a much more percussive album with many different types of drums, shakers, etc. being used. There were even three songs that featured banjos and mandolins. All in all, the band felt that this was their best album ever. It represented more of what the members wanted to do and less record company politics. Unfortunatly the public preception of Bride was that they had become too contemporary and the record did not do as well as had hoped. The devoted and ethusiastic fans had spoken and in response Bride put away the banjo's, mandolins, and conga's for their next project. In Rugged Records defense; Rugged was sent by God for a season as a partner to aid Bride in presenting the gospel differently than Bride had previously contributed to it. Drop would not have been possible if it had not been for the joint affiliation of Bride and Rugged Records.

Star Song is known very well in the industry as being the "best of" king. They recompile songs recorded by artists many years after they are off the label and re-release them in a variety of ways. Shotgun Wedding is Bride's second best of from Star Song. It contains Bride's 11 #1 radio hits from their four albums with Star Song. Three of the tunes have been re-mixed in order to give Bride fans an incentive to purchase the collection. Bride refused to record new songs for the album under the deal that Star Song submitted. This is a good collection of Bride songs, but the remixes could have been much better.

There are 20 songs on this disc, 16 of which do not appear on any other Bride album, and 4 of which appear on DROP. The members of Bride feel that some of these songs are actually the best they have ever written. This collection of songs were compiled from demos from 1990-1993. The members who played on the songs vary as does the method they were recorded. Some songs are recorded straight to DAT, and others are recoreded on a 32 track mixer. This is a rare CD to have since it is not sold in stores and Bride only printed 2000 copies.

From the 9 shows, the band chose the songs they felt were the best. Those are the songs that made it to the CD. This CD is very difficult to find because it is not available in stores and unfortunately, it is usually expensive. Its normal retail price is over $40. Occasionally, he is joined by others, such as Troy, Jerry, and even his son, Alex. As with most of the independent Bride releases, there were only 2000 copies of Speak Into The Machine printed and there are only a few hundred left. This recording, like his first, is a concept that shows one man's struggle through life. Many of the stories that are incorporated are from Dale's past. Using real horns, keyboards, and many other unusual instruments, Dale produced a very believable blues recording. This record is available in stores since it is being distributed by Rugged Records.

Troy, and his wife Michelle, have been singing together for almost 10 years now. This is the first effort they have made to record and distribute any of their material. "Everytime" is a massive departure from the Bride style of music. Actually, it is composed of Love songs that Troy wrote for Michelle, with the exception of Echoes of Mercy, in which Dale wrote the lyrics. The reason for doing this project was to allow Michelle to sing the songs that Troy had written for her. It is only available on cassette from Bride.
