One Road
Something that I have felt compelled to share with folks these days is about the path, which Jesus has told us we must follow. The path to life is straight and narrow and without many riches here on earth. But its eternal rewards are ever lasting, they are permanent. The rewards and achievements of this world are temporary.
We should all be concerned about our future because we will have to spend the rest of our lives there.
In no other religion in the world do we find an incarnation like that of Jesus Christ, or even an incarnation at all. Of all of the other major religions throughout the world, Jesus is the only leader who claimed to be a prophet, who claimed to be the Son of God, who prophesied his own death and how he was to be killed. Jesus was the only one who promised to rise from the dead. All nine founders of religion, with the exception of Jesus Christ, are reported in their respective sacred scriptures as having passed through a preliminary period of uncertainty, or of searching for religious light. All the founders of non-Christian religions evinced inconsistencies in their personal character; some of them altered their practical policies under change of circumstances. Jesus Christ alone is reported as having had a consistent program for his religion.
The incarnation of Jesus Christ is true! Mankind can know God! Is there any greater theme to study than life itself? John 17:3 says "This is eternal life, to know thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent".
"To know God"! The word "know," "knowledge," "known," etc is found 1486 times in the bible. All scripture centers on the idea of knowing God.
"To know the only true God." Jeremiah 10:10 "But the Lord is the true God, he is the living God, and everlasting King: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation". 1 John 5:20 "And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him, that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life".
People today are saying that they can choose any path to follow because all paths lead to God. This is a materialistic view of destruction, damnation and immorality. Their definition of morality is: "Morality must be defined by every individual according to his own views and interest. Morality is ultimately relative because every person is the final authority for his own views". Do you see how dangerous this lawlessness sounds?
We know that morality is defined by God and immutable because it is inherently based on God's immutable character.
There is only one way to the Father, and that is through the Son. There is one road, which leads to God, this road is called "Jesus Christ" the Son of God!
To know this Jesus Christ I have discussed one must read the bible. The bible is consistently accurate because God does not lie (Titus 1:2), indeed this is impossible for Him (Hebrews 6:18; cf, 1 John 2:21).
Eastern religions are philosophically self -refuting and nihilistic; modern materialism/secularism/atheism/humanism is bankrupt philosophically, morally, and in most other ways as demonstrated by a number of modern philosophers and theologians. Polytheism, deism, pantheism, and other worldviews are also inadequate or logically deficient. Only Christianity survives the tests of logic, rationality, and empirical, historical verification as a comprehensive worldview.
In Christ Jesus our Lord,
